Dr. Evangeline (Angie) O'Dowd, OD

Dr. Evangeline (Angie) O’Dowd is originally from Rochester, New York, and comes from a family of nine. Dr. O’Dowd completed her undergraduate studies in 1985 at Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana, and received her Doctor of Optometry degree in 1989 from the New England College of Optometry in Boston. Dr. O’Dowd completed internships at the VA Medical Center in Vancouver, Washington, Omni Eye Services in Atlanta and Brighton Marine Public Health Center in Boston, experiences that offered her exposure to a wide range of eye care treatments and techniques.

While attending the New England College of Optometry, Dr. O’Dowd helped provide eye care and eyeglasses to those in need through the efforts of Volunteer Optometric Service to Humanity (VOSH). Dr. O’Dowd’s Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agent (TPA) certification allows her to prescribe medication and treat patients with a diverse range of ocular conditions. She is also certified for the evaluation and pre- and post- operative care of all ocular surgery patients, including those requiring laser vision correction.


She enjoys going to the gym, playing violin, and entertaining friends.

Dr. Patrick O’Dowd

Dr. Patrick O'Dowd, OD

Dr. Patrick O’Dowd was born and raised in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, as one of eight children. After graduating in 1985 from Juniata College in Huntington, Pennsylvania, Dr. O’Dowd received his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1989 from the New England College of Optometry in Boston. Dr. O’Dowd completed internships at Brooke Army Medical Center in Fort Sam Houston, Texas, the VA Medical Center in Vancouver, Washington, and South End Community Health Center in South Boston, resulting in an increased understanding and awareness of developing eye care treatment options.


Acting as president of the New England College of Optometry branch of Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH) International, Dr. O’Dowd began a free clinic for those without ready access to eye care and spearheaded the collecting and dispensing of donated prescription eyeglasses. In this capacity, Dr. O’Dowd also organized and participated in several trips to Mexico and Colombia to provide free medical eye care to those in need. As a result of these efforts, Dr. O’Dowd was recognized by the Massachusetts State Lion’s Club with a Certificate of Appreciation. Dr. O’Dowd was honored with the F. Dow Smith Award, presented to a graduate student each year “for demonstrating exceptional leadership potential.” In addition, he received the Gold Key International Honor Society Award “for outstanding leadership and service of the college and the profession.”

Dr. O’Dowd is TPA certified and licensed for the evaluation and pre- and post-operative care of all ocular surgery patients, including those requiring laser vision correction. In his spare time, Dr. O’Dowd enjoys swimming, and playing drums.

Dr. Daniel O’Dowd

A native of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Dr. Daniel O’Dowd attended the University of South Carolina where he majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry before completing an Accelerated Prerequisite Early Admission (3+4) Doctor of Optometry program at the New England College of Optometry (NECO) in Boston, MA in 2018. During his time at the New England College of Optometry, Dr. O’Dowd completed internships at South Boston Community Health Center (Boston, MA), VA Lowell Clinic (Lowell, MA) as well as externships at Eye Centers of South Florida (North Miami Beach, FL), Naval Health Clinic at Makalapa (Pearl Harbor, HI) and Kaneohe Bay Branch Health Clinic (Kaneohe, HI), with which he completed with honors.


Following graduation, Dr. O’Dowd returned to North Carolina where he worked in rural primary care optometry with particularly large emphasis in ocular disease. His noteworthy optometric interests and expertise include management of diabetic eye disease, glaucoma treatment and management, dry eye management, pre/post-op surgical management, and myopia (nearsightedness) control.

Outside of clinic, Dr. O’Dowd is an active member with VOSH International having served as an optometric physician in both Nicaragua and Haiti to provide free eye care to populations without access. Dr. O’Dowd is a dual NAUI/PADI-certified Advanced Open Water Diver, and thoroughly enjoys working out, traveling, playing the piano, skiing, watching football (Go Panthers!), and investing. Dr. O’Dowd is fluent in Spanish.

Dr. Teresa Pham

Dr. Teresa Pham graduated from the University of Texas (Hook ‘em!) in 2014 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences and received her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Houston in 2018, graduating with clinical honors. Dr. Pham then went on to complete a residency in Ocular Disease providing services to the veteran population at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center in Ohio, where she gained specialized training in medical optometry and emergent eyecare. While gaining clinical experience during her residency, Dr. Pham also gave several lectures educating local physicians on various retinal conditions and acted as an attending doctor, overseeing Optometry students completing their internship at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center. Her clinical interests include ocular disease management, fitting specialty contact lenses, and pre- and post-operative care of ocular surgery patients. Dr. Pham is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a Board-Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry.



Following her time in Cincinnati, she moved to South Raleigh in 2019 to be with her husband and their rescue dog. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Pham loves traveling and hiking, trying new foods and recipes with her husband and shooting photography. She also speaks Vietnamese and is conversational in Spanish.

Dr. Teresa Pham, OD, FAAO

Dr. Kelly Lee

Dr. Lee is thrilled to be joining the practice, having moved from her home state of Maryland to NC this summer of ’24. After completing her undergraduate studies in public health science at the University of Maryland, she graduated with her doctorate degree at the Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry. Distinguished with honors, she was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society and the Gold Key Honor Society. She also served as the American Optometric Student (AOSA) Trustee, advocating for the profession of optometry at the national level. She received clinical honors while training at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and the Eye Centers of South Florida (OD/MD) with an emphasis on ocular disease management. As a primary care optometrist, she strives to provide exceptional eye care for patients of all ages. She is excited to continue her journey with Fuquay Eye Care!


When Dr. Lee is not in the office, she enjoys golfing with her husband, traveling to new places and trying new cuisines, learning new cooking recipes, and cheering on the Washington Commanders from afar.

Stephanie Sykes

Stephanie Sykes has been a dedicated member of the Fuquay Eye Care team for over 20 years and currently serves as the Practice Office Manager. With a background in healthcare administration, she brings a strong foundation to her role, especially excelling in the complex areas of insurance and billing. Stephanie is passionate about helping people and takes pride in ensuring every patient has a smooth and positive experience.



Outside of work, Stephanie has been happily married to her husband John for 28 years and is the proud mother of two sons, Garrett and Landon. In her free time, she enjoys relaxing at the beach and staying active through regular exercise.
